Indoor Select

Indoor hockey is played on a sport-court surface, and is a fast-paced, fun game with lots of touches! Teams play 6v6 (typically 5 field players and 1 goalkeeper), with small boards on the left and right side for the ball to be played off of.

IFHCK offers travel team opportunities throughout the year for elite athletes who can fully commit to weekly team practices and tournaments during the season. Athletes interested in playing for an IFHCK Travel Team must register and attend tryouts unless they are exempt by the Director.​

All athletes invited to formally join IFHCK must be fully committed to the club’s principles of hard work, dedication, teamwork, and sportsmanship. Other than school field hockey in the fall, the expectation for travel team players is that their IFHCK team be the top athletic priority. ​

• The Indoor Select Academy will conduct training sessions 2x a week Mid Nov/Dec to February
• National Travel teams that have qualified for the National Indoor Tournament will train until their respective NITs, based on facility availability
• In each age group, teams will be divided into Regional and National squads. Athletes who require additional evaluation from earlier assessment will be requested to return in November for further assessment (if applicable)
• Athletes who have participated in the Indoor assessment and received invitations for the 2025-26 season, will receive comprehensive information about Indoor Select. This information will cover playdays, costs, required equipment, and other important details
