Select Academy Field Hockey (Travel)

IFHCK OUTDOOR

*SELECT PROGRAM is for experienced players only- beginner level players to the sport should start in our Academy Programs: Rise (JK-7th) or Premier (8th-12th)*

IFHCK offers travel team opportunities throughout the year for elite athletes who can fully commit to weekly team practices and tournaments during the season. Athletes interested in playing for an IFHCK Travel Team must register and attend tryouts unless they are exempt by the Director.​

All athletes invited to formally join IFHCK must be fully committed to the club’s principles of hard work, dedication, teamwork, and sportsmanship. Other than school field hockey in the fall, the expectation for travel team players is that their IFHCK team be their top athletic priority. ​

  • SCHEDULE

    Spring: April - June (National teams may play through June)
    Fall: August - October
    • Tuesday's and Thursday's
    • Sessions run between 5:30 and 9:30pm, dependent on age group

  • AGE GROUPS

    U-10, U-12, U-14, U-16, U-19

  • COST

    Cost will be dependent upon level of team (Regional or National), along with potential tournament fees throughout the season.

  • LOCATION

    • King Louie's Sports Complex | 600 N English Station Rd, Louisville, KY 40223
    • Kentucky Country Day School | 4100 Springdale Rd, Louisville, KY 40241
    • University of Louisville | Trager Field | U16 & U19 National Teams

  • UNIFORM

    New athletes to the club will need to purchase a practice reversible, shorts, and the official select uniform if they do not already own them. Further details will be provided once athletes have been selected for a team.

  • EQUIPMENT

    • Outdoor stick
    • Shin guards
    • Mouth guard
    • Water bottle
    • Tennis, or turf shoes
    • IFHCK reversible and shorts
    • Goalkeepers must provide their own equipment

USA MEMBERSHIP: All athletes on National or Regional Select teams attending USA sanctioned events must be USA Field Hockey members. Click HERE

USA FH Age Group Eligibility (Updated Aug.1, 2025 per USA Field Hockey)

  • U8: Aug. 1, 2017 - July 31, 2019
  • U10: Aug. 1, 2015 - July 31, 2017
  • U12: Aug. 1, 2013 - July 31, 2015
  • U14: Aug.1, 2011 - July 31, 2013
  • U16: Aug. 1, 2009- July 31, 2011
  • U19: Aug. 1, 2007 - July 31, 2009
